Chasing the Milky Way (and Finding the Aurora)

If the stars should appear but one night every thousand years how man would marvel and stare.
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

I recently visited the North Cascades in hopes to shoot the Milky Way. Well, luck was on our side, and not only did we get to capture the Milky Way, we also stumbled upon the Aurora Borealis. An amazing night! Here are a few of my favorite shots.

The Milky Way in full force, seen from Washington Pass, looking south. Taken at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015.
