“Scott Kranz's photography workshop was a marvelous experience. He thoughtfully planned our multi-day adventure and responded to changing mountain conditions. Even though we were met with wildfire smoke and higher than expected temperatures, he was able to make changes to the shooting locations that still led to an incredible overall experience. The workshop had a perfect balance between long and short hikes as well as solo instruction and group instruction. Scott always answered all of our questions and spent a lot of time demonstrating things like his settings, thoughts behind composition, and general mountain safety. This trip has inspired me to continue developing my photography skills so I can continue to share these experiences with others. I would highly recommend one of Scott's workshops to any adventurers who are interested in sharing their experiences through photography. “Living in a digital age almost every question and their answer is available online. But no one can tell you how to approach a situation, how to plan ahead, how to compose, take the shot and edit. “I came into this workshop with quite a bit of photography and experience and I learned so much and gained a lot of new insights and techniques for shooting and editing from Scott. He is so down-to-earth and able to work with all levels of experience and comfort levels.
As we had a lot of rapidly changing conditions from heat and wildfires, he was able to quickly adapt his plans to keep us safe and informed but still give us incredible sights and experiences, which demonstrates his vast knowledge of the area and environment. 
Scott facilitated our workshop in such a way that fostered new relationships and friendships with the other participants, in which I also learned a lot from them. Scott welcomed feedback from the group and was flexible with us, able to read our energy levels and adapt the plans as needed, and also ensured our physical safety during the high heat with regular recommendations for hydration and sodium (it’s the little things, but so helpful!). 
One last thing… Scott was always happy to answer questions related to other aspects of photography, like running photography business, working with brands, etc. I found him very generous with his wisdom, knowledge and experience. I would love to be able to experience another workshop like Scott’s workshops like this in the future.”

“The workshop altogether was great! It was a bummer that the weather wasn't the most supportive of getting great shots, but I think that made the workshop better as it pushed me to be on the lookout for shots to take instead of the giant volcano standing on its own waiting to be photographed. The astrophotography section was most informative as that was completely new to me. Coming out of the workshop I'm going to try using my 30mm prime lens for next attempt (used rental 10-18mm f/4 for workshop) to see the difference in streaking of the stars and having to adjust shutter speed.”
