workshop FAQ

  • These workshops are designed for photographers of all skill levels. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your craft, you’ll receive guidance tailored to your experience. Beginners and intermediate photographers, in particular, will benefit from hands-on instruction in the field.

  • Before the workshop, you’ll receive a detailed welcome packet via email, which includes a recommended gear list. At a minimum, you’ll want a camera, lenses, a tripod, extra batteries, and memory cards. A laptop for post-processing sessions may also be helpful for certain workshops. If you have questions about gear selection, I’m happy to provide recommendations!

  • Since we’ll be shooting outdoors, you should bring appropriate outdoor gear, including layered clothing, waterproof outerwear, sturdy hiking shoes, and any necessary personal items. The welcome packet will include a full packing list tailored to the specific workshop location and conditions.

  • Some of the best and most dramatic images come from challenging weather conditions. Unless conditions become unsafe (e.g., extreme storms, wildfires, or other hazards), the workshop will continue rain or shine. Flexibility is key—if needed, we’ll adjust our schedule or locations to make the most of the conditions.

  • Each workshop varies in difficulty. Some involve short walks to drive-up locations, while others require moderate to strenuous hiking and backpacking. The workshop description will indicate the expected physical demands. If you have any concerns about fitness requirements, feel free to reach out.

  • Group sizes are intentionally kept small and intimate to ensure personalized attention. Most workshops are capped at 3-8 participants, but check the specific workshop details for exact numbers.
